Client request templates can be made to automate your firm's client requests. Once created, client request templates can be used when Creating a Client Request. Client Request templates can also be added to task templates.
Please Note: All users can create client request templates. Staff users are only able to edit or delete client request templates they created. Admin users can edit or delete all client request templates in Canopy.
Create a Client Request Template
1. To get started, click on Templates on the global navigation bar.
2. Choose Client Request from the slide-in menu.
3. Click Create New to create a new client request template.
If this is your first client request template, you can also click Create template.
4. Enter a Request name for the client request.
5. If needed, toggle the Set default team member to receive notifications switch.
Assign a team member from the Assignees dropdown menu to receive notifications.
6. Select a Client due date.
7. Set a Client reminder.
- Select an option for which days to send a reminder. Options include:

Weekday
-
Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Tuesday, Thursday
-
Mondays
-
- Choose a duration from the For dropdown menu.
- Options include 15, 30, 45, or 60 days.
8. Enter any instructions for clients in the text box.
9. Add Automation if needed.

10. Add a File if needed.
11. Click Save to save the client request template.
Edit Client Request Templates
Once created, client request templates can be edited when needed. To get started, navigate to the Client Request Templates list.
Permissions: Admin users can edit all client request templates. Staff users can only edit the client request templates that they created.
1. Click the Options menu in-line with a relevant client request template.
2. Choose Edit from the dropdown menu.
3. Make any necessary edits to the client request template.
4. Click Save.
Delete a Client Request Template
Unneeded client request templates can be deleted. To get started, navigate to the Client request templates list.
Permissions: Admin users can delete any client request template in Canopy. Staff users can only delete the client request templates that they created.
1. Click the Options menu in-line with a relevant client request template.
2. Choose Delete from the dropdown menu.
3. Press Delete again to confirm your decision.
Once deleted, client request templates will be permanently removed.
